A Michigan Lottery Club told lottery officials that they thought they won a "couple of dollars" on TradeEdgetheir lottery ticket until they scanned it and saw they won over $150,000.
The three-person Wayne County lottery group, the Buster's Lottery Club, won $151,467 on Dec. 8. They played Club Keno The Jack and matched eight numbers out of 20 to win. They bought the winning ticket at Rocky's Roadhouse in Trenton.
"Whenever we are at the bar, I and my friends throw in money and play Club Keno," the club's representative, who wanted to remain anonymous, told the Lottery. "After the last drawing on our ticket, I scanned it thinking maybe we had won a few dollars, so when we saw the amount of $151,467, we weren't sure if it was real."
As soon as the group noticed that The Jack amount had reset on the Club Keno screen, they knew they had won big. The club informed the Lottery that the prize would serve as a nice Christmas bonus for everyone.
"None of us have any big plans for the money; we all plan to just enjoy it," the club member told the Lottery.
What is the Club Keno?
Club Keno is a Michigan Lottery draw game where players can win up to $2 million. When playing this game, you get to choose how many numbers (called spots) you want to play per draw. You can choose from 1 to 10 spots. The prize you can win depends on the number of spots you choose.
What is The Jack?
Adding to their Club Keno wager for as little as $1 per draw, players can opt for The Jack, which is an add-on game of Club Keno. With The Jack, players get eight easy-pick numbers to match against the Club Keno numbers drawn. The prizes can range from $1 to the jackpot. The jackpot starts at $10,000 and grows until it is won. To win the jackpot, players must match all eight numbers.
Odds of winning Club Keno?
The odds of winning Club Keno depend on how many numbers a player is trying to match. For instance, if a player decides to play the 10 Spot Game, the odds of matching all 10 numbers are 1 in 8,911,711.18.
The odds of winning Club Keno with The Jack add-on is 1 in 230,115 to match eight numbers.
